Local voices. fair pay. strong communities.
Tom Rockwell is running to represent District 56 with integrity, accountability, and a commitment to strong, local communities and economic growth.

Decisions about our communities should be made by the people who live here — not handed down from Indianapolis. In recent years, the state has overridden local ordinances, limited zoning authority, restricted how communities manage housing and growth, and stepped into local governance when communities disagreed. While Indiana talks about “home rule,” the legislature can strip away local authority at any time.
I believe District 56 deserves real local control. I will stand up for our towns, counties, and local institutions so that the people closest to the challenges are the ones shaping the solutions — not distant policymakers or special interests.
-
Indiana has no term limits for state legislators. Public service should not become a lifetime career. I support reasonable term limits and reforms that bring transparency and accountability to state government. Our district deserves representation that listens and stays connected to the people.

Access to affordable healthcare is essential in rural Indiana. Families should not lose coverage because of red tape or shifting state policies. I will work to protect access to care, support rural hospitals and clinics, and make sure healthcare policy reflects the real needs of working families in District 56.

Too many Hoosiers are working hard and still struggling to keep up with rising costs. Wages have not kept pace with housing, healthcare, and everyday expenses. I believe that if you work hard, you should be able to support your family and build a future right here at home. I will support policies that strengthen local jobs and ensure our economy works for working families — not just special interests.
